Russian revolution for Hull-based manufacturer
Hull-based Hurst Plastics Ltd were delighted to participate in the recent Learning and Skills Council Skills Fund
subsidised language training programme, prior to exhibiting at Mosbuild,a major trade show in Moscow.
Two of the company's employees undertook twenty hours of intensive Russian training aimed at providing a basic
knowledge of business and conversational Russian in preparation for the exhibition.
Export Manager Rebecca Atkinson said "The course provided us with a basic understanding of the Russian language
and business culture, personalised to meet our specific needs. The speed with which we built up a practical working
knowledge of Russian has surprised us, and is a reflection of the high quality of teacher provided by the RLN".
Two other employees from the company's export team are also taking advantage of subsidised French training.
Rebecca commented "Our ability to communicate confidently in our customers' own language is a key element of

overseas competitors".
